Peter Molinaro Named as New Managing Director of Mark Ross & Co.

Peter Molinaro has been named Managing Director of Mark Ross & Co., Inc., it was announced today by Mark Ross, president and chief executive officer of the company.

In his new role, Mr. Molinaro will be part of the senior management team involved in all aspects of the business. In addition, Mr. Molinaro will serve as president and chief operating officer of The American Life Insurance Congress, a new industry group founded by Mark Ross to promote ethical standards in the life insurance industry that is currently in development. Mr. Molinaro will be integral to the successful launch of the Congress.

“Peter has great respect throughout the life insurance regulatory and industry communities,” said Mark Ross. “He will provide our company, as well as our clients, a much wider perspective to view the fast-evolving marketplace. We could not be more pleased with Peter’s decision to bring his considerable talents to our senior management ranks.”

Mr. Molinaro has had a distinguished career in New York state government as both an insurance industry regulator and attorney. Most recently, he has served as Senior Deputy Superintendent of the New York State Insurance Department since 2002.

Mr. Molinaro noted that one of the challenges he looks forward to, especially in his new role as head of the ALIC, is working to promote ethical standards in the life insurance industry. “As a regulator, I have been concerned about some of the practices I have seen in the marketplace. I look forward to working to address these problems and developing ALIC to serve as part of the solution.”

Before he joined the New York State Insurance Department, Mr. Molinaro was general counsel from 1999 to 2002 of the New York state Workers Compensation Board. Previously, he was a deputy general attorney with the New York State Insurance Fund.

Mr. Molinaro is a graduate of Albany Law School of Union University and LeMoyne College of Syracuse, N.Y. Mark Ross & Co., Inc. is a major broker-participant in the original issue life insurance market.
