Program Offers CE Credit, Addresses Broker-Dealer Firm Element Requirements

Jointly owned and developed by Invescor and National Underwriter, the online Life Settlement Tools & Techniques program eclipses other web-based continuing education (CE) programs in specificity, depth, and relevance to the marketplace.

Filed and approved for continuing education credits in 49 jurisdictions, Life Settlement Tools & Techniques is available in four courses that can be taken separately or together.

Life Settlement Tools & Techniques addresses IRS revenue rulings on life settlement taxation issued in May as well as FINRA Regulatory Notice 09-42 published in July that addresses variable life settlements. End-of-chapter quizzes, a glossary of life settlement terms, and an appendix of reference documents are additional enhancements.

Among the 38 states where life settlement regulations have been approved, four states require registered representatives/agents to prove they have completed life settlement training before they can obtain a life settlement license. Several states require some degree of continuing education to satisfy life settlement licensing requirements.
